The Department of Education and Skills has recently published new anti-bullying procedures (Circular 45/2013). These are available on the school’s website, www.get.ie under “Policies”. The school is working on revising its own policies (the Anti-Bullying Policy and Positive Behaviour Policy, also on the school’s website) in line with the Circular. This review will involve input from pupils, staff, parents and the Board. Input from parents will be facilitated by the PTA, which has set up a review group. Any parent who wishes to join the group and/or suggest changes to the school’s policies can email the PTA at [email protected]. The group’s first meeting will be at school on Monday 2 December at 7pm and is open to all parents. The purpose of the meeting will be to identify areas in the school’s policies that could be improved and any issues not currently covered by the policies which parents feel should be covered.
