Happy Hanukkah 7-15th December

This year we are learning about and celebrating Hanukkah, a Jewish holiday also known as The Festival of Lights. We’d love to hear from any families who celebrate Hanukkah and warmly welcome you in to the school to speak with any of the classes.

Olympic Movement Break Challenge

Pupils have been enjoying taking part in the Olympic Movement Break challenge for the past month. The videos are led by Olympians and High-Performance athletes demonstrating fun exercises and activities that students of all abilities can do. The short videos, across a variety of different sports including athletics, boxing, rugby sevens, swimming, breakdancing, and para powerlifting, helped our classrooms to be super active!

We value how regular movement for children bring many benefits to the teaching and learning process, and following these high-performance athletes has been a great way to see some of the athletes who will represent Ireland in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games next summer!

And More!

Last Friday 6^th Class were invited to take part in a drama workshop in St. Pats, UCD.

The children learned about children’s rights and discussed them in great detail before second year students put on a display to further explore some of the rights we had discussed. We had a great time and 6^th class thoroughly enjoyed the sweets they earned for all their hard work!

Both 5th classes had an interesting trip to the EPIC museum on Wednesday this week.  We learnt about how Irish people emigrated all around the world and about our own amazing culture.  Sylvia
