Tennis Ireland Coaching

‘We absolutely loved having the coaches from Tennis Ireland come in and work with both our 6th classes. Their coaches, James and Maria, were brilliant with the kids. The lessons were very well structured and adapted for all abilities. It was all topped off on week 6 (Monday 11th Dec) with a visit to the National Tennis Centre were the classes got to use the skills they had learned on the full-size courts there. A massive thank you to Tennis Ireland and Manon’s mum Tara for facilitating and fingers crossed we get to work with them again in the future.’  Colm

Cillian (Pádraig’s 6th) ‘I really enjoyed the tennis coaching sessions. I think they were fun, enjoyable and a nice break from the classroom. I hope other classes in the school get to do them in the future.’

Manon (Pádraig’s 6th) ‘The coaches were very nice, and the tennis was really fun to play with my friends.’

Max N (Colm’s 6th) ‘It was very fun. I enjoyed it and the coaches were very good at teaching the fundamentals of tennis.’

Grace (Colm’s 6th) ‘I think it was great to let kids try out a new sport and it was fun playing tennis with my friends.’

Art Therapy

4th class went to Fighting Words for a workshop as Gaeilge on Tuesday. We brainstormed lots of Irish words we knew and then voted which character and plot to choose. We wrote a whole story through Irish as a whole group. After lunch we had a chance to illustrate or write our own stories in Irish or English. We had a wonderful day!

5th Class have been learning about lots of different winter traditions and celebrations. As part of this we learnt about Yule and created decorations for a living tree.
