7th January 2016
Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Athbhlian Faoi Mhaise Daoibh – Happy New Year to you all!
Today is Christmas Day in Ethiopia, it is called Ganna. Thanks to Tariku in Junior Infants, who brought in a bun for every child in his class, some bunting and a poster about Ganna. Families celebrate by gathering and eating together, no gifts are exchanged.
After school choir will begin with Sorcha next Monday from 2.30-3.35pm. 30 places will be offered on a first-come first-served basis from 3rd to 6th class. If your child is interested they must let Sorcha know by the end of the school day tomorrow. Spanish classes will continue from next Thursday. Religion classes for 1st and 5th will commence again at the start of February.
Our value for the month of January is Fairness. We will be linking this with the upcoming Fair Trade fortnight during February and March.
There are still some School Calendars available for sale from Karen’s office.
Frása na Seachtaine: Dia Duit (junior infants to 2nd class)
Cen sort lá atá ann? – Tá sé fluich/tirim (3rd to 6thclasses)
