New Educate Together/ETB School opening Sept 2016 – Swords Road, Whitehall

City of Dublin Education and Training Board and Educate Together are delighted to announce the opening in September 2016 of a new Community College in the Whitehall area on the north side of Dublin City. The College will be known as: Clonturk Community College, Whitehall, CDETB in partnership with Educate Together.

1^st class will participate in a Water Explorer’s Workshop next week. Thank you to Eoin who volunteered to talk to 1^st class about the 1916 Rising.

We have received a thank you from Barnardos for our recent donations of used postal stamps.

The HSE Vaccination Team will visit our school on Friday 29^th January 2016 to administer the Junior Infants Vaccination Programme for the school year 2015/16.

The Junior Infants Vaccination Programme is a school based vaccination programme which is recommended for children aged 4 to 5 years by the National Immunisation Advisory Committee. Children in Junior Infants Classes are offered the MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) Vaccine and the DTP/IPV (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough and Polio) Vaccine. Parents of Junior Infants will receive a letter today with more information.

The following children were awarded Random Act of Kindness Awards this week:  Tariku and Eliza Junior Infants, Peter Senior Infants, David, Tom, William, Ríona, Alice and Donogh 1^st, Hannah, Beth and Róise 2^nd, Leo 3^rd, all of 3^rd class, Tess, Sanjit, Ella, Emma, Conor, Thea, Molly and Meadhbh 4^th, Zoe and Roanna 5^th, Cáit and Layla B 6^th.
