Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Fáilte arais arís gach duinne! Its great to see you all again, here’s to the best year yet together in GETNS. We are now reaping the benefits of lots of hard work having reached this stage in our development and are grateful to Martin, our gardners and all concerned for our beautiful school building and surrounds. Thankfully this year we have a part-time caretaker again, Magic Mick, who joined us at the end of last year.

Welcome to New Staff
We are delighted to welcome on board the following new staff members:
Daniel, Carol, Ciarán, David, Emma, Maureen, Rebecca, Sophie and Sylvia.

Junior Infants
We’ve had a wonderful and settled start to the new year and are thrilled to finally welcome and get to know our newest members of our community. Well done to the children throughout the school who seem to be getting back into the swing of things seamlessly.

School Secretary’s Campaign
We fully support Forsa members who are campaigning for a fair and consistent deal for all School Secretaries in relation to renumeration and benefits. It is currently a very flawed pay system where some school secretaries are paid directly by the Department of Education and others are paid by School Board of Managements using a grant from the Department. If one of the lucky ones, paid directly by the Department, pension benefits are included otherwise there is nothing. There is a protest demonstration outside the Department of Education Marlborough Street this Saturday at 1pm, all welcome. There will be a further demonstration locally in the coming weeks and we will need your help to make some noise for this worthy cause.

Climate Change March
Maeve will be organising a further Climate Change march, similar to the last one. We’d love you to join us in Albert College Park 11:30am-12:00pm on Friday 20th September.

Mighty Martin needs a dig out again
All green fingers or not so green welcome on Friday 13th September from 9am to 11am to continue with the great grounds work.

Reminders
Homework Journal: Cost is €5 from 1st to 6th Class
Safety First: Ball games, skate boarding, etc. are not allowed on the school grounds before the bell goes. Similarly, no one is to go to the bike shed or leave the concourse area until the bell goes. Thank you.

Frása na Seachtaine: Cé tusa? Is míse…… – Who are you? I am…

Le meas,
