Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

COVID Reminder

Due to the prevalence of other non-COVID related illnesses such as RSV, the HSE has recommended that children remain at home until they are free from any symptoms for 48hrs, regardless of a COVID negative test.  Staying home if you are sick is the best way of keeping our school safe.

We thank you for keeping your children at home if they are displaying any symptoms.

Entering and exiting school premises

At this point we expect everyone to take their time coming in the gate allowing space for each other.  When necessary, please stand back for a minute of two until the gateway is clear.

Once inside the gate, walk only, no wheels, thank you.

Library re-opened to the classes

The classes have started using the library again, each class is now allocated a day to visit the library. We are hugely grateful to Rosie and the team of parents who have worked tirelessly including some long evenings and with great results.  We now have a beautiful library!

Rainbows

We are starting our first 10 week Rainbows programme for children in GETNS after Christmas (COVID protocols all strictly followed). See the poster below for more information and to register your interest.

What is Rainbows?

Rainbows is a free, voluntary service for children and young people experiencing loss following bereavement and parental separation.

What does it look like?

Attending the programme provides children with an opportunity to meet with other children of a similar age and loss experience.

Is there more information for parents?

Marathon Kids

On Friday, 5th and 6th class completed the final 2 kilometres of the Marathon Kids programme. Over the last 8 weeks, each child managed to run a whopping 42 kilometres and learned lots about health and fitness along the way.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership @dccsportsrec for funding the booklets, t-shirts and medals and a special mention to our local Sports Officer, John MacDonald, for facilitating the programme.

Thank You Letter by Lucy from 6th Class

As part of their practice in formal letter writing the 6th class children wrote a letter thanking Ranjit for talking to their class about Sikhism last week.  The letter chosen by the class to send to him was written by Lucy (see a copy of the letter across).

BoM meeting with Parents and PTA AGM

It was great to see such a turn out for our annual meeting albeit on Zoom, aaarrrgggghhhh!!!!  Huge thanks to Lisa for hosting the meeting.  It’s a great opportunity to share and celebrate all the wonderful successes throughout the year, none of which would happen without our dedicated staff, enthusiastic and engaged parents and supportive Board.
