Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Just to keep you in the loop…
Wellbeing
I sincerely hope that you are managing, through the ups and downs of this ongoing strange period. Thank you to Lisa for the lovely wellbeing newsletter shared this week, and to all for the continued focus on wellbeing as part of our School Self-evaluation. It is very relevant and needed. Congratulations to Áine Clancy (BOM member) who is now on the Board of Directors of Educate Together, nominated at the Educate Together AGM on 9th May 2020.
SPHE and PE Plan
As per our School Plan, we are currently reviewing our curricular plans for SPHE and PE. Thank you for your input to date, as emphasized previously the invitation, not obligation to contribute remains open until tomorrow.
Perhaps more importantly, as per our SPHE plan, we cover RSE during term 3, so we would encourage you to a look at what is covered at your child’s age, and maybe a few chats with your child. Please do not worry as it will still be covered on the return to school.
BUDGET 2020/2021
The BOM are currently reviewing our financial situation, which has gone through considerable fluctuations since the move into our new building in Jan 2017. We are working on a budget for the next school year.
Reopening of schools in September
You may be keen to know about the return to school, and possibly seeing some bleak pictures of possibilities. I want to reassure you that as soon as I know more, I will be in touch. Last week I was part of a meeting where all Educate Together principals were invited to provide feedback to the DES on contingency planning for the reopening of schools in September. This has been sent to the Department. I’ll keep you updated on any news I receive.
We are all remaining hopeful and positive.
Thank you and Good Luck to Sorcha who is going on Maternity Leave at the end of next week. Thank you for your huge contribution to our school community, we will miss you, and we wish you lots of love and luck.
Le meas
Róisín
