International Chess Master

We are very proud of David, International Chess Master, who won the Irish championship for the first time beating one of his nearest competitors, a Grand Master.  David’s success automatically places the Irish team in the 2026 Chess Olympiad.  Thanks, David, for taking the time to zoom in from the competitions.

Excellent article on Inclusive Education by Caroline and Hubby

I highly recommend taking a few minutes and just a few clicks to read this

9 Steps to create a world-class inclusive education system for pupils with additional needs on Page 68-69 of Intouch Magazine

As highlighted, progress has been made but we have a long way to go.  Many concrete solutions are very clearly illustrated in this article however we need to put pressure on our leaders to ensure much more adequate follow through in supporting the most vulnerable at a formative stage in their life.  With upcoming elections bring the points here to politicians calling at your door.  Fair play Caroline and Feargal.

And More!

6th classes were catching up on all the Chess Olympics news with David!

3rd Class (Oisín) visited The Rediscovery Centre for a Water Workshop and learned about the water cycle, water pollution, and water filtration.

On Monday last, David’s 5th class visited Drumcondra Library. It was a lovely, sunny morning and we enjoyed the walk down from school. When we arrived, Ronan the librarian welcomed us and spoke to us about the building. He showed us some books about buildings in the local area, which links in with what we are studying in SESE. We had a chance to check out some other books that interested us and we had time to relax and have a read. When we left the library, we took some time to admire the building. It is built in the art deco style, something we have been looking at in art lessons recently. After the library we visited the playground in Griffith Park on our way back to school. It was a lovely start to the week.

“Exciting times in Daniel’s Junior Infants as we met Flowie the dog who’s going to help us learn how to write! ”

Both 4th classes enjoyed an afternoon in Albert college park today.  They had a lovely sunny picnic and had great fun playing together!

The girls Gaelic team played St Laurence’s of Baldoyle on Wednesday afternoon. Each of the girls played amazingly and should all be very proud of themselves.

Reminder:

  • If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them at home until they are feeling better.
  • When dropping or collecting your child early/late to/from school please ensure you close the pedestrian gate securely on your way in and out of the school.

Frása na Seachtaine:
