Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

The team spirit and whole school parental involvement in organising the Autumn Fair is incredible.  Well done to the 2nd class parents who have put weeks if not months of work into getting to this point and it feels like there is great support from across the parental body in these last few days.  It will be a super day.

It’s nearly time for the Autumn Fair!!

Huge thanks to everyone for already buying raffle tickets, donating items, cooking, baking and volunteering their time.

The event itself will run in the school from 12 -3pm this Sunday 20th October. Bring your kids, parents, extended family and neighbours!

Entrance will cost will be:

  • €5 for a family

Tokens are available €1 each for kids to use throughout the fair.

There are lots to see and do for adults and young people.  There will be lots of food and refreshments at the burger stall and the café.

We have all the kids’ favourites, a toys shop, cinema, disco, face painting and tattoos, games and a super spooky haunted trail.  There is also a chance to soak one of the teachers!

Bring your ‘Keep-Cups’ and kids bottles for drinks to help cut down on waste. Small change is really welcome, but we can accept card payments and Revolut too!

Tusla Child & Family Agency

To whom it may concern,

My name is Val McGuinness. I am from Tusla Child & Family Agency, and I am the regional recruitment coordinator. As you may be aware there is currently a national shortage of foster carers in Ireland with nearly 6000 children on our system and 90% in foster care.

There is currently a big demand for foster carers in Ireland, particularly in Dublin 11 and your area.  I am trying to raise awareness for the need of urgent foster carers in the community to try keep children in their own community, schools, friends, clubs.  We are currently running information sessions in person for groups, to reach out to your professional workforce,  parents, and other professionals within your groups from all different culture/religion backgrounds who may have experience working with children with additional needs,  Thomas is one of the many children who urgently needs a long- term foster carer. See more about Thomas here: https://www.tusla.ie/thomas/

I would love the opportunity to join you and your team in person to give a short presentation which would take about 15-20 mins,  However, If I was to invite an experience foster carer who could share their experience and answer questions this would take about 40 minutes. We can accommodate these from November onwards if you had any meetings coming up?

We also hold online sessions for people who are working who cannot attend our presentation, but they would need to register at [email protected] to get the link to join

I have attached one of our digital leaflets for your attention.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
