Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Home-based Summer Provision
This summer our school is running the ‘Summer Programme’ for children with a diagnosis of ASD and other complex needs. Unfortunately, there is no more availability on the programme, so if your child is eligible for home-based tuition over the summer and you are interested in applying (click here to access the application form), please let the school know by Monday 9th June at the latest. Once we know, we will complete an application for each individual and you will receive a confirmation email with the next steps.
Reminder to Art Day is on 13th June – click here to Volunteer
Thanks to all the parents who are busy organising and preparing for Art Day 2025!
And More!
Junior Infants Stations
We were very excited to have started station teaching in Junior Infants classes this week with Emma, Daniel, Sorcha and Caroline. We have 4 stations working on our sounds, decoding, encoding and a fun with Numicon maths station. It’s a great opportunity to consolidate all our learning this year in a fun and structured way. We also had a talented 5th class helper who showed us all how to do it! Thanks to Faye!
6 students from Naomi’s 4th class were chosen as finalists for Trócaire’s Gamechangers event in the Helix on Tuesday. They came in the top 20 out of 209 competitors. On the day they learnt lots about global justice issues and also about the games industry. The students had to present their board game “journey to safety” which was about refugees fleeing Syria and the challenges they faced along the way. They also got to play the other students board games, which was a lot of fun. Well done to Angeline, Abi, Clara, Liv, Elizabeth and Alayna for being excellent ambassadors for GETNS and the world! Naomi
Camogie Team Update
A great performance against St.Columba’s NS with goals from Sadhbh and Ivy. Wasn’t our day unfortunately but a fantastic performance all round! Outstanding performances from the whole team! Maith Sibh! Siobhán & Ava
Kate’s 6th visit to the Botanic Gardens
Joe showed us around the Gardens today pointing out plant adaptations. Many questions were asked and answered. Thanks, Joe!
Reminder:
- We are having amazing sunny weather so lots of classes are availing of our outdoor classroom, time outside and enjoying our yard time. Please make sure everyone has sun cream on (and perhaps a hat) and a water bottle.
