Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

I have nothing to add here, see below from fellow community members and thanks! Róisín

Restorative Practice Webpage

A reminder that we have a Restorative Practice webpage on our school website if you would like to find out some information about our school’s restorative journey. This year we will be focusing on introducing the language of ‘feelings and needs’ with children to foster emotional literacy. By empowering children with effective communication skills, they can confidently express themselves, fostering understanding and reducing potential conflicts.

Our RP journey is ongoing; we are all learning and trying every day to value each other and our relationships above all else.  Lisa

Wellbeing Update

We are committed to continuing our Wellbeing work as a school, and our ongoing goal is to enhance the wellbeing of members of our school community.

Please find a wellbeing update on our school webpage here, which includes information about our new wellbeing committee and they have been doing so far, as well as details about our monthly wellbeing focus, including resources you might like to try out at home.

A reminder that the Wellbeing tab can be found under ‘Resources’.

If you have any ideas about how we could support the wellbeing of our school community, please feel free to get in touch via our school email.  Lisa

And more!

Rang a haon, Dee

Great week learning about the life cycle of the pumpkin.  Making beautiful autumn pictures out of some fallen leaves.  Athletic s with Shane: getting tips on how to do relay races.

Today’s panel for the boys’ Corn Mhic Chaoilte quarter final against Our Lady of Good Counsel BNS, Johnstown.

Playground Games are up & running again and pupils are loving it! Thanks to our wonderful playground leaders from 2nd and 6th class.

Budding photographer William Lawless achieved considerable success by having his lovely photo of a fallow deer in the Phoenix park published in The Times UK’s photos of the day online gallery. The gallery is filled with photographs from photographers and news agencies around the world.  The photo was taken on Sunday last as we went to watch and photograph the deer during rutting season. It’s a wonderful sight to see but advisable to keep your distance. Brian

Pádraic from 2nd class came 3rd for his art in the RTE This Is Art! competition and his piece is on show alongside lots of other entrants in a special exhibition at the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts, 15 Ely Place, Dublin 2, until October 29th. It showcases children’s art from over the last three years of the RTE competition and is really worth a visit. Well done Pádraic!  Carol

We also have a new email address for submissions: [email protected]

We would love to get lots of the same type of contributions we all enjoyed so much before. Please send them to the above address by next Wednesday 18th October. Articles don’t have to be long – even a few lines would be enough! Here are some ideas to get you started:

OPINION: If there’s something close to your heart – animal rights, kindness, wellbeing, the environment – that you want other people to be aware of too, you know where to find us!

COMICS: Since the sad departure of Blako the cat, there’s definitely an opening for a comic – or lots of comics!

INTERESTS: Do you have a great hobby that you think other people might enjoy? A special skill that you want to show people? A super fun sport that you want to share? There’s plenty of space for pets and music too!

CULTURE: Who doesn’t love a good story? A wonderful poem? Some historical facts? Some super cool photos or drawings? A piece about your favourite artist? Send them all in here!

FUN: A riddle, a joke, a quiz, a puzzle and absolutely anything else that you think would be good to fill this space! Send them in!
