Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Combatants for Peace

As part of our work on Peace and Justice this month, 6th class pupils and I talked about the importance of childrens’ rights and looked at the above link.  This grassroots organisation is committed to non violent action in stopping the war and is holding its 19th ceremony this Sunday at 6:30pm on Zoom.

Please see the beautiful art work and messages by our 6th class pupils who have sent postcards to President Michael D Higgins asking him to attend the ceremony and to raise awareness of it.  I hope some of you choose to register to attend too.

🚲National Bike Week🚲 Saturday 11th to the 19th of May

Next week, we will be celebrating National Bike week.

It is a great way to celebrate sustainable travel, learn about cycle safety, and promote many other benefits of cycling.

We would like to encourage as many children as possible to cycle next week. On Wednesday it is National “Cow Day”🐮🚲 (Cycle on Wednesday )

The School’s Green Team will be taking a survey that day for Green Schools Ireland; we could be in with a chance of winning a prize for the school.
So if your child can only cycle one day next week, please make it Wednesday 🚲😁
Happy cycling!  Aoife

Wellbeing Week will take place this year from May 27th-31st

The aim of this week is to foster positive mental health and wellbeing in our wider school community.

We would love to involve the wider school community in endorsing positive mental health and wellbeing. If any parents are willing to share their skills and talents with us in terms of music, yoga, Pilates, meditation, mindfulness, fitness, healthy eating, art, or any other skill, interest or passion which enhances wellbeing, please get in touch!   If you are interested in coming in, please contact the school with your availability and some details about what you would like to do!

Bike Week takes place from 11th – 19th May so we’d like to invite you to join some events celebrating cycling in the city

Sunday 12th May: Pedalpalooza Cycle Parade
