Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Thank you for observing the request to take care on the road during entry and exit to school.

We will have a Whole School Assembly on Monday 29th February at 1.15pm to celebrate Healthy Living, our value for the month.  All are warmly welcome.

Seachtain na Gaeilge will be starting on 1st March. We will be encouraging children to use as much Gaeilge as possible.  We will be rewarding good efforts with stickers, spot prizes and framed photographs of Gaeilgoirí na Seachtaine.  We will have a whole school assembly on Proclamation Day, 15th March.

World Book Day is on 3rd March. We invite the children to dress up as their favourite book character and will have extra book-related activities, including story time with older children reading to younger children.  Immediately after the Easter holidays some classes are invited to take part in drama/story activities in St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra which will include performance, storytime and some involvement by our children.

Cyber Safety Seminar

We urge as many parents as possible to attend the cyber safety seminar on 9th March at 8.50am – 9.50am. We have a collective responsibility to ensure our children are safe in cyber space. The Board of Management has kindly agreed to pay for this. Please email the office if you are planning to attend the parent workshop.

News!

Tom in Senior Infants made his big screen debut last Friday 19th of February in a screening of ‘Further Beyond’ at the IFI as part of the Dublin Film Festival! Comhghairdeas! We are all very proud of him.

Senior Infants had a visit from the dental hygiene nurse on Wednesday and were presented with certificates for completing the ‘Mighty Mouths’ programme. The dental nurse was very impressed by our knowledge of food and drinks to avoid and keep our smiles healthy.

3rd class enjoyed a trip to the Axis to see “Monday’s Child” by Brendan Murray.

Well done to Ruben in 3rd class who won a Special Merit Award in the Texaco Art Competition 2015.
