We would like to welcome Dearbhail as our new Senior Infant teacher.
AGM The annual meeting of the Board of Management and the Parent Body is on Wednesday 30th November 2016 at 8pm. This will be followed by the AGM of the Parent Teacher Association. All parents are warmly welcomed.
Reminder
The school will closeat 2.15pm and 1.15pm for Junior and Senior Infants onTuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 22nd, 23rd and 24th November 2016to facilitate Parent Teacher Meetings.
Science Week
As part of our Discover Primary Science Award there were experiments taking place in all classes:
Junior and Senior Infants experimented with different materials to build the strongest house – lego, blocks, sticks, lollipop sticks, paper.
1st class made animal habitats and did taste testing.
2nd class made a magnetic fishing game using a variety of materials.
3rd class will be visiting Marsh’s library next Monday 21st November to take part in a science workshop. (Please ensure your child has a leap card or return bus fare – 2 x €1).
4th class will be planting seeds under various conditions to see how they grow.
5th class made lava lamps.
6th class had fun during science week working together to make balloon rockets and electrical circuits.
Storyteller
Author and storyteller Mark Binder from Rhode Island visited many of our classes on Tuesday. His diverse storytelling technique really captured the imagination of all our pupils. Thanks to Naomi for arranging his visit.
St Vincent de Paul Annual Food Appeal
We invite families to contribute one non-perishable item towards making hampers for those in need. We aim to put together one hamper per class. If you would like to contribute, please bring an item into class by Friday 2nd December. Please see the attached information sheet and suggested food items.
Christmas Fair
The NDNSP are holding their Winter Bazaar 0n Sunday 27th November from 11am until 2pm (behind the Esso Station on the Ballymun Road).
