Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

New School

Things are looking very good for the move to the new school. We are putting pressure on Dublin City Council to have the traffic lights in place on time. All being well, children will not come to school on Monday 9th January while staff move and set-up. On Tuesday 10th January, we invite children and parents to the old school as we begin our first day in the new building with a procession from the old to the new school. Please note consultation is in place regarding a potential earlier start time, to minimise traffic congestion and ensure children’s safety.

GETNS 2017 Calendars will be on sale from tomorrow, in the school. Thank you to Mitch who spent two days putting them together, Pete and other PTA members involved in the printing and final production, the sales team of parents, all of whom generously gave up their time. Of course thanks to the artists – children and staff.

Hampers

Thanks to Karen for organising 14 hampers for St Vincent de Paul. Well done to everybody for supporting other families in Dublin.

Christmas Closure

We will have one short break on Thursday 22nd December and close at 11.30am for all pupils for the Christmas holidays. Please ensure children are collected on time as removal lorries will be arriving.

The RSA visited the school today and will return to talk to the older classes in January. This is particularly important with the move to Griffith Avenue, a much busier road.

Well done to Evin, Ciaran and Oliver in 6th for participation in a short play competition at the weekend in the Drum Theatre, written and performed by them. They got through to the finals, congratulations!
