Zeeko Parent Talk

We will have a talk for parents on cyber safety on Monday 12th Nov.  We would encourage everyone to try to attend.  Children from 2nd class up will be taking part in workshops that day and it is very useful for you to be able to discuss issues openly with your child when you have received the same messages that day.

Weather Warning

School will be open as usual tomorrow.  However we will monitor the situation as advised by NECG  and if a decision is made that the school should be closed you will be informed by text either this evening or by 7am.  Please take care en route to school and within the school grounds.  There will be no yard time tomorrow.

SEN

See link for information on the new model for SEN.

AUTUMN FAIR – 21 OCTOBER 12-3PM

We are a little over a week away from the Autumn Fair. We hope you’re as excited as we are. Thanks so much to all the volunteers who have come forward to help so far. We still need more folk if we’re going to make it happen though. Please come and help us on the day if you can. We need people to help set up on the Friday and clean up on the Sunday. We have several stalls that need more volunteers to help cover breaks etc.  Scary ghouls and goblins for our haunted house, creative folk for crafts stall donations, beauty salon and much more. A shout out for those interested in helping on the security side. If you can’t make it to the fair itself, it would be great if you could help with set-up on the Friday or clean up on Sunday afternoon.

We also need donations for all stalls (see below). Please drop all donations to the school. Just inside the double doors to the right near ALC.

Don’t forget to Like our Facebook page for information and updates on the Autumn Fair and other school activities – https://www.facebook.com/ GETNSAutumnFair/.

Have you seen our dressing table in the school for the Blind Auction?

Raffle

Exclusive online raffle tomorrow Friday for those that bought tickets on line. Of course, these tickets will still be in the draw at the fair.

There’ll also be a kids raffle – prizes to be announced in the coming days! On Monday next we’ll be selling raffle tickets at pickup and dropoff times. Many thanks to those that have already dropped their raffle tickets into the school. Last day for returned tickets will be Friday 19th October. There will be a treat for the class that sells the most tickets – so, please do your best! However, as we keep saying, there’s no pressure to sell all or any tickets, so if you can’t or don’t want to that’s fine. No explanation needed, just return the tickets in the envelope provided.

Any raffle prizes that you want to donate can be dropped to Nicky’s office. Please label it ‘Raffle’ and let either Trish ([email protected]) or Alan ([email protected]) know.

Holistic Heaven

We will have Indian head massage, back massage, hand massage, reflexology and blood pressure check. We will also have tarot reading. We all lead very busy lives and it’s hard to get a few mins to ourselves so why not treat your partner to 10 mins of bliss while you mind the kids. Why not book and pay for your partner, friend, someone that’s helped you out, give a surprise to someone that needs it.  Pre-book a treatment to avoid disappointment on the day. Email Rosie: [email protected].

Café

We are working on making the cafe a great place to relax and get yourselves fuelled for the day. We are looking for the following donations to make this happen.  Large cakes, traybakes, fairy cakes, scones, sandwiches and quiches.  If you feel you can help with any of the above, please let us know.  As we really appreciate your support.  Email [email protected].

If you can volunteer for any of our food areas please contact Carmel ([email protected]).

Books

Every good book cafe needs great coffee and cakes but it also needs books! Our Autumn Fair book shop is always a great earner so please send in all books of any kind.

Boutique

The super stylish Boutique is open for donations! We are calling out for gorgeous items of clothing that are in GREAT CONDITION. Time to make room in your wardrobe and donate all those fabulous items of clothing and jewellery that you feel you may never wear again, or you never have worn!!!  So, have a look and see if there are a few good pieces that you could donate. We would be delighted to receive them. And darlings, we ask for items in good condition only.

Bric-a-brac

This year, we’ve decided to call our bric-a-brac station, “Aladdin’s Cave”. To make it a true snooper’s paradise, we need lots of your unwanted things! Please donate items that you no longer need or use from around the house or any unwanted gifts. Use Aladdin’s Cave as your excuse for a declutter… Some ideas to get you started: small furniture, crockery, cutlery, ornaments, objects d’art, picture frames, unused bathroom smellies/cosmetics, candle holders, mirrors, trinkets, lamp shades, homeware, tablecloths, unused bedlinen, cameras, paintings, unused art materials, unused greeting cards, notebooks, stationary, bike parts, camping gear, tools. Remember… your unwanted things could be someone else’s treasure! Please drop Jessica an email if you have any questions, suggestions or if you’re wondering if something you have at home is suitable for the cave! Email [email protected].

Toys

The Autumn Fair is the perfect opportunity for decluttering, for parent and kids alike…  We’re looking for games and other collectables! Remember, there’s no anticipating what treasures will be found, so if in doubt, donate! Email Deirdre ([email protected]).

Sweet Stall

As always, we will have a stall dedicated to sweets and chocolate, everyone’s favourite! If you happen to have access to any confectionary that you can donate, please contact Ruth at [email protected] as this stall is always a hot seller so the more we have the better!

Kids Zone

Can you get your hands on some prizes for the Kids Zone? Email Sinead ([email protected]).

GETNS Craft shop

The craft stall at this year’s AUTUMN FAIR needs LOTS of products to sell. Do you make jewellery, pottery, small gifts or furniture? Can you knit something? Are you an artist or designer who could donate some small pieces? Do you make soap, toys, or baby clothes? Or do you know anybody who does? We’d really welcome any ideas, suggestions and – most of all – donations! Please contact Alessandra email ([email protected]) Thank you!

Matched funding

More companies are supporting employees by doubling fund raising for local charities and good causes up to a limit (e.g. €250). If your company runs a matched funding scheme like this then we want to hear from you. Please contact Pete ([email protected]) and we will help you to help us boost the much needed funds we raise at the Autumn Fair.

Bookings

Next week we will be taking bookings for the Holistic Haven, Photographer and selling the kids raffle tickets. See you there at dropoff and pickup times.

Many thanks.
