Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Incidental Inspection
Last week we were delighted to welcome our School Inspector on a surprise visit! He spent the day with us, mainly observing in three different classrooms, and we are thrilled with the feedback provided. He was very complimentary about the atmosphere in all three classrooms calling them “… affirming and orangised learning environments where any child can learn”. He stressed that this is, “… never taken for granted and while it may appear easily done, acknowledged that it is not, but down to skilful teaching.” He said “…it was clear that there are very good work habits; the children are used to listening; that very clear guidelines are provided by teachers; pupils were engaged in very good pair work; peer to peer feedback was at a high level with very focused teacher feedback to pupils also.”
He praised the writing folders (a record of samples of work over time) and the excellent art work displayed. He was impressed by the way in which teachers ensured that all pupils were supported. He said “…they are skill teachers who know what they are doing.”
This is truly a great achievement at this hectic time of year and a credit to all our wonderful teachers. Take a bow all!
Bake Sale
The Student Council led by Naomi played a blinder in organising the bake sale of all bake sales. The standard of cakes, etc. would have put the Cake Boss to shame. It ran seamlessly and raised a whopping €1006!! This is sure to cover the cost of a new fence.
New Caretaker
Shortly we will be welcoming Mick on board as our new Caretaker.
Art Day – A very special feature of our school
A massive thank you to the team of busy bees who have been working tirelessly to ensure another phenomenal and successful Art Day tomorrow. We are very excited!!! This wouldn’t happen without the commitment and hard work of the parents who organise it, all the volunteers who contribute and the fundraising endeavours of our fabulous PTA.
