28th February 2019
Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Value for the Month: Co-operation
First Aid
Eleven staff members are now re-trained in First Aid. Thank you to all concerned for giving up this time. The school now has a defibrillator located in the foyer.
Further Training
The staff were also trained in the Primary Language Curriculum and we are very happy with progress in implementing this. Staff members also received training in Preventative Ethical Training in Managing Aggression.
ABI Programme – Anti Bullying Workshops/Talk
Thank you to all the parents who made the effort to be here last night, it was great to see so many of you here. The programme is very much in line with our ET principles, our existing anti-bullying policy and practice and our Learn Together monthly values. Further training and time is required to look into this and we will keep you updated.
Active School Running through Europe Challenge
In the first 3 weeks we’ve run a combined total of 1,527 km and managed to reach the cities of London, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam and Luxembourg. Brilliant work by all!
We’re not done yet though and have a few more cities in our sights. We should easily break the 2000 km mark and if we push it for the last few days we could potentially reach cities such as Warsaw (2242 km away) or Zagreb (2300 km away).
Thank you all for the huge effort put in so far.
Swimming has begun for 5th and 6th class for a 6 week block.
Mulching – Volunteers tomorrow please!
Thank you Úna your help over the past week. We really need volunteers tomorrow from 9am up to lunch time or whatever time you can spare. This will be ongoing for the 1st and 3rd Friday or every month until June, however one day of helping is better than none.
