Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
We wish Sorcha the very best of luck as she begins her maternity leave.
Well done to Áine for organising Trick or Treat for Temple Street and to all for your generosity in raising €440!
New Building
Following a visit to the new school on Tuesday by Sorcha and myself, I would like to inform you that subject to the ESB works being completed on time, we will start next term in our new school. This will be confirmed as soon as possible. As mentioned before, the Department have sanctioned one day of school closure for the staff to relocate. All being well, this is likely to be Monday 9th January. We would like to invite all parents to join us on the momentous moving date for a procession from old to new site. Our new school is worth the wait!
Parent Teacher Meetings will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 22nd, 23rd and 24th November 2016. The school will close at 2.15pm on those days and at 1.15pm for Junior and Senior Infants.
Value for the Month
We have decided that all the children will review and illustrate our Mission Statement in preparation for moving to our new premises while bringing with us all our core values and a clear vision for continued success at GETNS.
Sixth class enjoyed another visit this week from DCU students who used interesting approaches to teach maths.
Oral Health
The HSE will be visiting 3rd and 5th classes next Tuesday 15th November to talk about oral hygiene.
