A few reminders re safe entry/exit to school

Please observe social distancing measures, and avoid any congregating, both inside the school grounds and outside the school gates.  On entry to the school in the morning it would be very helpful if all adults can model this by coming in the gate one or two at a time and at a distance.

Masks should be worn by adults, on the school grounds, at all times.

2nd class parents- please ensure you are not blocking the exit at the end of the school day

Slight Change in Plan – One-way system for First Class parents

Parents, please walk along the treeline side as always but then collect from the Basketball court and continue to walk around the school by the bike shed to exit (one-way system).  This is will help ease congestion.

Park & Stride

We are delighted to see so many children choosing green travel to school where possible.

Children are encouraged to walk / scoot / cycle to school.  As per one of our old Green School slogans ‘If school’s not far, leave the car!’ Where this is not possible, we would ask that parents consider parking in nearby areas & walking with their children to school. By supporting Park & Stride, you and your children will be playing a part in alleviating traffic congestion outside the school gate, making trips to and from school safer for everyone.  Research shows that children who are active in the morning have better levels of concentration in the classroom.

Research also highlights that Park & Stride provides parents with some valued time with their children, giving an opportunity to have some fun, while walking to and from school.

Meanwhile you’re also doing something for climate change.

Dublin City Council will be delivering new bike stands to the school this month and some new scooter racks were installed at the beginning of September.

Frása na Seachtaine:

“Fán nóiméad le do thoil” – “Wait a minute please”
