Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,
Value for the month is Pride
For the month of June we will celebrate our many achievements over this tricky year. We are proud of our Active School Flag, and we are delighted to have been successful in achieving the Creative Schools Award. These are collaborative whole-school accomplishments; however, we wish to focus also on individual progress and to celebrate individual differences and diversity. We aim to have some fun and to engender tolerance in accepting self and others; developing understanding and open-mindedness.
As part of this work, for the first time, we are excited about having a Pride celebration on June 23rd. This will include a Pride parade and a Flash mob (we will gather at a distance outdoors for a dance), a joyful opportunity for self-expression. All classes will also participate in a family art competition, and while younger classes will focus on individual difference and diversity, older classes will also learn about Pride history.
