Dear Parents and Guardians / A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

New Building

We were all delighted to hold a small turning-of-the-sod ceremony on Monday on our new school site.  Attracta and John (retired Deputy Principal) attended and all the 6thclass children took some of the soil which will be returned to the new school garden when it is built. Official work on the site begins today!

GAA News The boys’ team received a walkover on Wednesday as unfortunately the other team didn’t show.

Trips

On Tuesday, 1st Class visited the Natural History Museum and 3rd class visited the National Museum.

Head Lice

There have been cases of Head Lice in several classes and your child may have been exposed. We would suggest that parents should check their children’s hair regularly and treat at the weekend, if necessary.

Frása na Seachtaine:  “Tá na duilleoga at titim”– The leaves are falling

Le meas,

Autumn Fair Sunday 18th October

It’s now just over 2 weeks to the Autumn Fair and we are currently very short of volunteers.  Please email [email protected] and let us know if you are willing and able to help with some or all of the following:

– Friday set up

– Sunday morning set up

– On a stall during the fair

– Clean up after the fair

  • Alas, we are also short on friends, so get over to www.facebook.com/GETNSAutumnfair and befriend us or at least like us if you can.  Other requests for help this week are:
Raffle tickets have been sent home with children today, so please help them sell these to friends and relatives and if you need more we will make sure there is a supply in the office.
  • We have some great prizes for the raffle this year, but can always do with more for the main raffle or small items like books, DVD’s and computer games for the kids raffle or things suitable for hampers.
  • Suitable items of clothing, jewellery and shoes required for the boutique, plus costumes for dressing up.  Please bring these to the office from now on.
  • We are also looking for items for the arts and crafts stall.
  • As we get to the last week we will also be after the usual items for toys, bric-a-brac, books, food, cakes, etc so please bare this in mind in the next week or so.
  • Thanks for your help,
    The Autumn Fair Committee
