Dear Parents and Guardians/A Thuismitheoirí agus a Chaomhnóirí,

Final Opportunity for Participation in Policy Development: ICT Use Policy Review
We are reviewing the school’s ICT Use Policy. It is imperative that you complete this survey which will inform the process. Please click on the link below, it will only take a few minutes, please take the time now. Due to a lack of response from Parents to date the survey has been extended until Monday. This is your final chance to take part in the development of this important policy for school and home have to work closely for the safety of our children.

First Holy Communion
We are delighted that the 2nd class children enjoyed a sunny day for their very special event. We are all so proud of how they were able to share the meaning of it with their peers throughout the school today for example that they “feel more grown up”, “one step closer to Jesus”, “feel better able to make the right choices” and of course enjoyed celebrating with their family and friends and all the treats!

Peace Tree for the Planet
If you remember back in September we had the Peace Run visiting the school with the Peach Torch and we are welcoming them back this Monday to plant a Peace Tree. We’ll have a Senior School (3rd – 6th Class) assembly in the hall at 11:30am followed by the 6th class children gathering outside to plant the tree next to the tree gifted to us by last years 6th class.

Hurling
The children have a hurling match on Friday against Scoil Míde at 3pm in Donaghmede. Best of luck to all the children playing and you’re welcome to come along and support them.

Botanic Gardens Sustainable Living Fair
A Sustainable Living Fair is being held in the Botanic Gardens on the 11th and 12th May and the Botanic Gardens invite the children to be part of the festival in some way, particularly in light of their recent Climate Change march. There will be an informal soapbox–style setup outdoors for short talks 2-5 minuntes long, where they can give little snippets of what they are doing/read short stories/sing songs/give out soundbites and information.

Autumn Fair Preparations

Are you a garden enthusiast? Do you love making jam, so much that you don’t know what to do with it?! Do you love knitting, but have enough knitted socks to keep a caterpillar family’s feet warm? Fear no more, we will take your excess items and sell them for a good cause!

As you know, our school holds an Autumn Fair every year. This is the school’s biggest fundraiser, which money goes towards buying equipment for the school, Art Day, buying books for the library and similar necessary materials, for our children. By donating your handmade objects and your time, you will be allowing us to sell these items at the fair later on, which money will go to the school.

But we are asking you to start working on this now! Seeds need time to grow, a scarf takes time to knit, and those jars of jam won’t make themselves! If you think you have an area of handmade materials that you could share with us for selling at the Autumn Fair (card making, pottery, sewing, etc) please get in touch with our committee, and we can tell you what the next step is. So if you have some free time over the summer, please think of our school and start preparing your lovely hand crafted items! We thank you in advance for your time and donations.
